The Stuff That Matters

The questions builders and architects on Long Island actually need answered before adding solar to a new construction project.

Why does it matter when you bring a solar contractor into a new construction project?

The earlier GreenLogic is involved, the better the outcome. When solar for new construction is planned from the start, roof pitch, panel orientation, conduit routing, and electrical panel placement can all be optimized before anything is built. That means a cleaner install, better system performance, and no costly retrofits after the fact. Bringing us in after framing is done works, but it always costs more and looks worse.

How does new construction solar installation work differently than a retrofit?

With new home construction solar, we work directly from the architectural drawings rather than adapting to an existing structure. That means we can spec the right roof angle, pre-route conduit before drywall, and size the electrical panel correctly from the start. The result is a system that performs better, integrates more cleanly, and requires no structural modifications down the line.

Why does GreenLogic sometimes take longer than other solar contractors on Long Island?

Because we don't cut corners on new construction solar projects. Every system goes through a full engineering review, uses hurricane-rated racking, and is installed by our own licensed crew — not subcontractors hired for the job. Permit sets are complete and accurate the first time, which means fewer delays at inspection. A job done right on a new build takes the time it takes. Your clients will thank you for it in year ten.

What documentation does GreenLogic provide at project close-out?

We provide everything your client and their utility will need. That includes as-built drawings, permit sign-off documentation, PSEG LI interconnection confirmation, panel-level monitoring setup, warranty paperwork, and a full system walk-through with the homeowner or building owner. Nothing is left open at close-out.

Can GreenLogic work across multiple new construction sites at the same time?

Yes. We have the crew capacity and project management infrastructure to run multiple new construction solar installations across Suffolk and Nassau counties simultaneously. If you're a builder or developer with an active pipeline, we're set up to be your dedicated solar contractor across all of it. One point of contact, consistent quality, every site.
